When I signed up for TCN, they had sent me a very informative email. There was a link to resources. I just went through my email, and clicked that link and it just takes me to the sign up page on TCN. Does anyone know the new address to the resource link?

Paris,
This is a great program. I am nearly through with my BSN thanks to TCN. Their guides are very good. I have only made less than an "A" on 1 test (Natural Science). My technique at first was know the guides inside & out but I finally realized that was taking too long. Skim over all of the guide then take the practice test in the back. If you score like 80% or better on your 1st time, then to me it was time to schedule that Clep/Dantes or Excelsior. If you don't get 80% the 1st time go back & look up the stuff you missed. & then look on line for only a day or two & see if you can find more practice questions. Just don't make the studying too time consuming or you'll work yourself up for nothing. Try one test this way & see if it works for you, then you will know for your next tests.
You'll be fine.

That's great and inspirational to the rest of us beginners. How long have you been in the program? Which school will you get your BSN from? I recently started the college network LVN-BSN through ISU. The best of luck to you!

I think I started about 2 years ago. I have been doing my prereq & my classes one at a time & I try not to think too much about the time involved. I try to stay focused on the end. I will be through Aug 26. (But who's counting, right?)
My degree will be from Regis University in Denver, CO. I realize these self-study courses aren't for everyone, but it has been the best way for me. I think you can learn a lot when you are the only one who is going out there securing your clinical sites and you can log on to your "class" when it is convenient & not need to sit in class while someone asks a time-consuming question that you already know the answer. I have thoroughly enjoyed both TCN & on-line classes through Regis. When I go back for my MSN, I will probably attend actual classes because I worry about the Thesis & stuff like that but otherwise, for me, this was definetly a smart decision. I wish you the best of luck & would encourage anyone just starting out to stay with it. It will be a great accomplishment when you are done. For me, there won't even be a pay raise as I am going from ADN to BSN but it is still something of which I am proud & it is a needed step in my eventual goal of teaching nursing school.
Just stay focused on the end result.
God Bless,
Dee Dee

Hi all,
I am new to this , too. I am working on my last pre-req (technical writing) and I just got some bad news that I am not sure how to deal with!
I had planned to enroll in Excelsior College, but I am moving to Illiois and have just found out after buying this program, that illinois does not accept excelsior trained RNs......is ther a distance eductation program they DO accept?

I started with sociology.. I am so procrastinating now.. just noticing that if you are NOT interested in the subject, then all you read are words and nothing sinks in..

Hi There,
At the hosp where I had my sinus surgery there were a few RN's that were working OR that have gone the TCN/EC route.
I also worked with a few LPN's about 5 years ago that were going through RUE and they passed boards on their first attempt. There will always be negative when trying something that does not fit the norm. I am looking at it this way, I am going to think about myself, not worry about the what if's and give it 100% and do the very best I can. If this was not a legit program then I doubt this would still be around and I doubt there would be nurse's who are working in hospitals here in the Grand Rapids area that have done their RN this way.
Don't worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dee
